May 2021

May! What a great month we've had! The weather has been great, there are flowers blooming everywhere, and we are spending more and more time enjoying the outdoors! We started taking early morning walks to the beach before school and it has been an awesome way to start the day.

You wanted to climb the hills on the golf course and then told me I looked small so I took this picture to show you how small you looked to me.
Barnacle Bay (named by you, of course).
Dad's birthday!

Your first taste of authentic Chicago Garrett Popcorn!

Diggory. 😉
Mother's Day tea party kit!
Family walk at Greenbank Farms.
Mother's Day hangman.
You made us trail mix and scones for our tea party and arranged everything beautifully on the tiered serving tray.
Best Mother-Daughter Team! There's no one I'd rather spend Mother's Day with than you, Sweetie.

Driveway improvements.

Teach & Tell.
Leaf prints for science.

Hiking at South Whidbey State Park.

Some mornings we even spot seals at the beach! Super fun!
The fawns have arrived and we are all completely taken by them. We've seen as many as 4 at a time in the yard, though we are pretty sure there are more than that. We are all drawn to the windows every time they show up. They are fascinating and adorable and so much fun to watch.

Your own forest made from nature treasures.
Majesty Rock.
Wacky Wednesday class celebration for filling the bean jar. You thought wearing a uniform would make it extra wacky since you haven't worn it all year. The class had moose races on the playground at school, so we had our own stuffed animal races after school.

Grandma & Grandpa are here! It's been almost 18 months and way overdue. We are so very excited!

Best quotes this month:

"For example, even if I decided that C.S. Lewis was my favorite author I still might not like The Hobbit."

*referencing bank robbers* "What about the rest of them? They're usually in a pack, right?"
