Family Visit in Olney

Today we returned from a nice long visit with family and friends in Olney, Illinois, the place that Daddy and I call "home."  We took a little extra time off and made it a longer visit than normal and it gave us a little extra time for visiting and even a little time to relax.

We had a great time and I suspect you will be asking to go back to Grandpa and Grandpa and Grandpa's house (your phrase, not mine) for a long time.  Who can blame you?  Huge yard, golf cart, hammocks, tons of toys that aren't your own, what's not to love?

So many great memories.  Here we go!

10 minutes before we need to leave for the airport, still sound asleep.  You would never sleep this late on a day when Daddy and I could stay in bed.

Grandpa story time!

We got a really special treat when my cousin Lindsay came to visit with her twin boys.  These cuties were born exactly one month before you and they went home from the hospital the very same day we did (they were preemies).  This was the first time we were able to meet them in person.  Henry on the left and Will is the blondie.  Such a great visit!

Horrible picture, but this was a placeholder to remind me that you got to go outside and catch lightning bugs with your cousins.  You loved it.  One of them sort of flew into your hand and you were able to hold onto it and brought it up to the house to show me.  You were so proud.

Another night you got to go out and look for stars for the first time with Grandpa.  It was kind of cloudy and there weren't many out, but this is one of his favorite things to do with his grandkids and I know he'll be waiting to try it again on our next visit.  The stars never look as amazing as they do from Grandpa and Grandma's backyard.

Gotta wear shades.  And a cape, in your case.

I love watching you and Karmann play together.  She was in shock when she found out you were over a year younger than her, but that means you too are just about the same size.
