Another month and our summer is flying by!

We've been having lots and lots of tea parties this month.  You've been pretty fascinated with my high heels and jewelry lately so I told you we could dress up and make it a real fancy tea party and it was a huge hit!

Your very own set of Winnie the Pooh books.  You were so excited!

Making your own PB&J.  You are doing more and more things on your own these days.  You love it and so do I.  You're taking your own showers, cleaning up better on your own, clearing your dishes, and one of the biggest changes:  you moved up to a booster seat in the car and can buckle yourself!

It was a bit of a rocky start but once you gave it a good try, you love gymnastics.  You are signed up for unlimited classes for the summer and have been asking to go almost every day.

Tea party rules.

After an excruciatingly hot week I was feeling a little restless after being stuck inside so much.  Daddy was leaving for a weekend road trip with a friend, so I thought you deserved a special surprise and bought you your very own porcelain tea set.  You were so excited!

While Daddy was gone, we made a list of fun things for us to do, which included a whole list of recipes you picked from your cookbooks.  I'll skip sharing ALL the pictures, but we did have fun, so here's one.  In the end we made mouse potatoes, sunny scrambled eggs, stoplight popsicles, avocado frog dip, monkey pizzas, and fishy fruit dip.

Girls Day Out.  We went to Michael's and filled a cart with craft supplies to help keep us busy for the rest of the weekend.  After that we hit up the library....

Missing Daddy one night I suggested that you try sleeping with a stuffed animal.  "Which one makes you think of Dad?"  "Curious George and Snow White."

We made no-sew dresses for your dolls,

Made custom spiral beads out of clay,

And made them into keychains.

You planned a wedding.

The dolls were flower girls and Snow White was there to make sure no one tried to leave (security detail?).

And we had a fabulous tea party for the reception.

I'm pretty sun-conscious and make you wear long sleeve rash guards most of the time in the pool, but if it's shady or overcast sometimes I'll give on that a little.  One morning we were getting ready to get in the pool and you casually asked, "So can I wear short sleeves or does it have to be long or what's the plan here?"  It sounded just like something Daddy or I would say and totally cracked me up.  I just laughed and gave you a huge hug....and I let you wear the short sleeves.
